An Everlast Insulation installing insulation into a new-construction wall.

New-Construction Insulation Installation Using The Blow-In-Blanket® System

Loose-Fill fiberglass insulation installed using the Blow-In-Blanket® System is a fast, efficient way to achieve excellent energy performance from the start. Mesh is easily installed over the exposed interior framing and injected with insulation prior to drywall installation. The following two sections describe the process used for installing Blow-In-Blanket® fiberglass insulation in a new-construction application.

WALL INSTALLATION:

  1. Seal around windows and doors with foam or batt insulation.
  2. Mesh is applied by gluing or stapling to the wood or metal studs according to BIBS® specifications.
  3. A nozzle is inserted behind the netting and blown fiberglass is blown throughout the cavity.
  4. Work areas are cleaned.
  5. Drywall can be hung immediately due to the insulation being dry, not wet unlike wet spray cellulose which requires at least 24 hours of drying time (or 25% moisture is reached).

ATTIC INSULATION:

  1. Attics are properly ventilated with baffles where necessary.
  2. Rulers are inserted throughout to monitor the correct level of insulation.
  3. Insulation is blown throughout the attic to the R Value specified during the consultation.
  4. Attic accesses are also insulated so that there are no voids in your ceiling.
  5. Work areas are cleaned.
